Joshua Chisa Mbele

Joshua Chisa Mbele, who faced three arrests under the current administration, seems to have undergone a transformation, aligning himself with the Malawi Congress Party (MCP). He now offers fresh insights into the party’s strategies for maintaining power in the upcoming 2025 elections.

“We are retaining this administration for as long as it lasts. Chakwera is standing for 2025.

I know as a matter of fact that he doesn’t have an equal competitor in terms of self-respect, integrity, character & charisma,” said Mbele.

According to Mbele, “Leadership is not something you don’t switch on and off. Leadership is an art of managing diversity, rallying people around a common vision. Leadership is ability to identify grow other leaders.”

He said “Chakwera for now ticks more boxes than all competitors. The road ahead: We must fix the economy. Must build better. Infrastructure. We must build credible public institutions. We must deliver better public service delivery machinery.”

Mbele said the administration going forward mut focus on creating jobs, “more labour markets overseas for semi-skilled and skilled workers. We must invite international investment. Reduce waste. Eradicate corruption.”
