Let’s hold hands in this dark moment says President Chakwera: Operation Tigwirane Manja

Bridges swept-off due to Cyclone Freddy

The Malawi leader continues to score highly on the leadership scorecard as he told Tropical Cyclone Freddy victims at Sammes camp in Chikwawa and by extension to the entire nation to hold hands and unite in what he dubbed; Operation Tigwirane Manja.

Malawi was hit by Cyclone Freddy which has so far claimed 326 lives and still counting with many people injured and households and property swept off. According to President Chakwera, bridges have been swept off and this was collaborated by Paramount Chief Lundu of Chikwawa and member of Parliament for Central Salim Bagus who urged President Chakwera to reconstruct the damaged Mkombezi Bridge in order to ease transportation between Chikwawa and Nsanje.

Chakwera urged all officials responsible for the distribution of relief items to do so transparently and with accountability without corruption whatsoever.
