AFORD MP Yeremiah Chihana Faces Expulsion Over APM Endorsement

Yeremiah Chihana: Heading for Disciplinary Hearing

Controversial Aford MP Yeremiah Chihana faces party wrath as he’s summoned to face the music at the party’s Lilongwe headquarters this Thursday at 10:00 am. The firebrand lawmaker stands accused of unilaterally endorsing DPP’s President Peter Mutharika, without any official party mandate.

The charge sheet obtained by Shire Times alleges that Chihana falsely claimed to have party authorization for backing Mutharika in the 2025 elections, a move deemed as gross indiscipline and in violation of the party’s constitution.

Yeremiah Chihana, a relative of Enock Chihana, risks expulsion from Aford.
