Highly promising journalist, Chawezi Banda, working for the Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC), has reportedly been dismissed from his position. The termination, Shire Times understands, has come as a result of engaging in business activities and seeking funds from parastatals in the name of MBC, beyond the scope of his responsibilities. Ironically, this is the same offense that led to his previous dismissal during Aubrey Sumbuleta’s tenure.
Despite his talent and skills, Chawezi Banda enjoyed certain privileges, including a promotion to Chief Producer and accompanying President Chakwera to UNGA, even though he was not a news reporter.
