Ex Pres. Muluzi at 81 rests as APM Hallucinates 2025 Presidential Comeback at 84

Bakili Muluzi

How Paradoxical! Malawi’s former President Bakili Muluzi commemorated his 81st birthday today, signifying the passage of time and the need for rest. Meanwhile, his counterpart, former President Peter Mutharika, aged 83, in his illusions, is planning to bounce back in power, despite being two years junior to Muluzi. Instead of gracefully embracing retirement, Mutharika appears to harbor ambitions to embarrass himself more and more by attempting to impose himself as Presidential candidate in 2015 when he will be 84 years old.

“Is he aspiring to lead Malawi to the grave?” pondered a Blantyre resident, echoing the sentiments once posed by Mo Ibrahim.

Meanwhile, Mutharika’s party grapples with internal discord, a testament to his faltering leadership and the erosion of cohesion within its ranks. Despite the tumultuous state of affairs, Mutharika remains resolute in his pursuit to impose himself as the party’s torchbearer at the party’s upcoming convention, anticipated to convene later this year.
