Malawi’s Muslims set ablaze Emmanuel Intenational Church; its Pastor accused of mocking Allah

As per Islam teachings, Muslims at Mpilipili, Makanjira in Mangochi felt duty bound to protect their faith on Wednesday after Emmanuel International Church’s Pastor Gladson Njenekera mocked Allah through a drawing, which according to the Pastor was a true representation of the God of Muslims.

Reacting, the Muslims flocked to the Pastor’s church and in a blink of an eye the building was razed to the ground.

Regrouping themselves and equipped with stones, pangas, axes and other materials, the group descended on the house of the pastor to seek clarification on why he downgraded their Allah in that way.

According to one of the eyewitnesses who sought anonymity, the incident happened today around noon.

“The pastor is said to have drawn the picture and kept it in his hardcover book. And today, he sent his child to make a photocopy of some documents which were in the hardcover.

“Unfortunately, when the photocopy service provider opened the book, he saw the drawing and in no time he showed his friends. It was from there that the people ganged up and charged towards the pastor’s house,” Said the source as quoted by The Nation.

The pastor, upon sensing danger, escaped leaving behind his wife and children.

He has since lost everything in the fracas.

When Muslims, or their faith or territory are under attack, Islam permits the believer to wage military war to protect them. This war is commonly referred to as Jihad in Islam, meaning a military struggle to benefit Islam.
