Team Malawi wins 44 medals at Region 5 youth games

The regional five youth games which took place in the capital Lilongwe have seen Malawi bagging home 44 medals in various sports disciplines. During the youth games, 10 countries participated. They include Zambia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Angola, South Africa, Mozambique, Seychelles, and the host Malawi.

South Africa emerged top in scooping medals as they clinched 114 with Malawi in sixth position having gotten eight gold medals, 10 silver, and 26 bronze medals.

The second place was occupied by Angola with Zambia being in the third position, medal-wise whereas Mozambique anchors the medal table with 17 accolades.

The youth 5 games helped to showcase Malawi to the region with the youth building long-lasting networks with their counterparts.
