Malawi’s former President Bakili Muluzi has emphatically called for the government to take immediate and decisive action against an online television platform illicitly operating under his name.
Lameck Mombera, the chief of staff in the former president’s office, has articulated Muluzi’s grievances regarding the persistent misuse of his name in political affairs and trivial propaganda, which he asserts is tarnishing his reputation.
Government spokesperson Moses Kunkuyu has confirmed that the police and the Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA) have been notified to investigate the matter and ensure the culpable party is held accountable.
