Mtambo’s CFT lauds Chakwera’s fight against corruption; asks Veep to let ACB investigates him

CFT's Maunde (C)

The Citizens for Transformation (CFT), a political grouping formed by Minister of Unity and Civic Education, Timothy Mtambo, says that President Lazarus Chakwera is doing a stellar job in fighting corruption in the country.  The grouping made the remarks when they addressed the media in the capital Lilongwe on Wednesday.

The Group’s publicity secretary, Chimwemwe Maunde, stated that Chakwera needed all of our support and went on to denounce Malawians who he claimed were backing corrupt people and those who were demanding the dismissal of ACB Director General Martha Chizuma.

According to Maunde, the CFT is totally behind Martha Chizuma,  and they are urging the government to provide funding for the ACB to hasten case investigations.

Commenting on the country’s vice president, Saulos Chilima, who was listed as one of the corrupt individuals dealing with British businessman Zuneth Sattar, who stands incarcerated in the UK, Maunde said that Chilima must follow the law and allow the ACB to look into him.

According to Maunde, CFT believes that everyone who has been implicated in the Zunneth Sattar wrongdoing, regardless of their status, has to be looked into and brought to justice.

If the war against corruption is to be won, the grouping suggests that ACB must carry out a recurring lifestyle audit.
