Dedza, Malawi — The Malawi Congress Party (MCP) has staged a charged political rally in Dedza-Boma, where its parliamentary hopeful Gerald Chavez Kampanikiza drew crowds at the Demonstration ground under the authority of Senior Chief Kamenyagwaza.
Senior party figures, including the respected Clement Mlombwa, stood shoulder-to-shoulder with Kampanikiza, while the event’s guest of honour was Kelvin Mpekasambo. The rally turned into a show of force, underscoring MCP’s tightening grip on Dedza ahead of the coming elections.
Speaking to supporters, Mlombwa hailed Kampanikiza as not just a candidate, but “a son of the soil” with vision and roots in the community. He declared that MCP is proud to field such a leader, urging locals to seize the chance to back a man who, he said, would lift Dedza to new heights.
