Morale has been boosted in Malawi National team camp as interim head of technical panel Mario Marinica has tested negative to Covid-19 and is set to lead the Flames group B last match against Senegal on Tuesday in Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Marinica missed the match against Zimbabwe which ended 2-1 in favour of the Flames following Gabadinho Mhango’s brace.

The Flames put up a vintage performance to subdue Zimbabwe’s Warriors to revive their chances of making it to the knockout stage after losing their first game.

The Romanian, who until Sunday was in isolation, will now join the rest of the squad and other staff members who all have also tested negative during a PCR test on Sunday.

While confirming the development with local media, Marinica urged players to demonstrate the same hardworking spirit the team showed against Zimbabwe inorder to get a better result.
