President Lazarus Chakwera visited the flood-hit families in Chikwawa over the weekend and gave them relief items.
The President was accompanied by the First Lady Madam Monica Chakwera among other government officials.
He noted that there is a need for proper coordination and communication when disasters arise to ascertain quick responses.
He has also called for proper assessment of development projects to deter environmental degradation.
