The Mangochi Chapter of the Ulama Council, a grouping of well-read Islamic scholars, has emphatically endorsed Uladi Mussa’s defection from the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) to embrace membership in the Malawi Congress Party (MCP).
This pronouncement follows closely on the heels of Mussa’s public alignment with the ruling MCP at a gathering in Salima, a strategic move prompted by his suspension from the opposition DPP. The suspension was instigated by allegations of his involvement in an NGC meeting orchestrated by the former DPP Vice President for the Southern Region, Kondwani Nankhumwa.
In response to these unfolding events, Sheikh Abubakar Labson, the Chairperson of the Ulama Council’s Mangochi Chapter, expressed unwavering solidarity with Mussa. As Friends of Uladi Mussa, the scholars wholeheartedly endorse his decision, deeming it a judicious step in the right direction.
“Uladi Mussa is a well-experienced Politician whom we believe will add value to issues of national development in the current administration,” said Sheikh Rabson.
