Iceland’s Prime Minister, Bjarni Benediktsson, departed Malawi from Kamuzu International Airport on Thursday afternoon after a five-day working visit. He was seen off by Vice President Saulos Chilima, Secretary to the President and Cabinet Colleen Zamba, and other government officials.

Benediktsson assured Malawi that Iceland will continue to support diplomatic cooperation and developmental projects. During his visit, he toured projects in Mangochi district and expressed satisfaction with the progress.

He highlighted the significant impact of these projects and confirmed Iceland’s commitment to expanding services to other districts, particularly in education, water and sanitation, and health.

The 35-year Malawi-Iceland partnership has strengthened bilateral agreements between the two nations.
