FAM Pres. Walter Nyamilandu’s eyeing of CAF position signals he’s battle ready

Dear Editor,

Recently, some pretenders started a smearing campaign against Football Association of Malawi (FAM) President Walter Nyamilandu calling for his illegal ouster. However, the daring Nyamilandu has responded by announcing that he will be seeking to be elected as CAF’s executive Member and he will compete against Lesotho and Mauritius’ FA Presidents.

If Nyamilandu wins, this means bad news for those who were clandestinely sponsoring groups to be chanting against him when Malawi embarrassingly lost to Egypt recently. However, if he losses, then it will give grounds for the anti-Nyamilandu group to continue their campaign hoping to dislodge him at the coming FAM Annual General Meeting. Either way, the pronouncement by Nyamilandu just tells one thing that he is battle ready and that if someone wants to disrupt the status quo, they should also be ready to battle it out with him. After all, power is never earned, one needs to fight to get it.

As patriotic Malawians, we wish the best to President Nyamilandu as he seeks the said CAF executive member slot.
