Malawi, a bastion of legal order, operates within the framework of its laws, and transgressions against such statutes inevitably incur consequences, sooner or later. Notably, on the 19th of January 2024, President Lazarus Chakwera’s motorcade was obstructed at the HHI Roundabout, courtesy of a group in procession from Ndirande Golio to the HHI Cemetery for a funeral.
Upon thorough investigation, law enforcement has apprehended Pearson Chimimba, the driver of the Nissan Diesel with registration number ZA 5906, one of the vehicles that impeded the road at the HHI Roundabout. Furthermore, Hector Ndawala from Thyolo district has also been taken into custody for his involvement in hurling stones at the Presidential Convoy.
The police assert that their ongoing investigations aim to identify and apprehend additional individuals implicated in the incident. The axiom holds true: transgressions against the legal fabric of Malawi do not go unnoticed and bear repercussions.
