Mulanje Central Member of Parliament, Kondwani Nankumwa, who also doubles as leader of opposition in Parliament on Wednesday made an impromptu visit to several places in Blantyre to appreciate how Malawians are struggling to make ends meet with the ever rising prices of basic commodities.

The opposition in-chief, flanked by Blantyre East legislator Sameer Sulemani, the one-time vocal legislator, Victor Musowa and Santigo Phiri visited Agora in Limbe, Limbe Produce Market, and Shoprite at Chichiri, Ndirande Market and Blantyre Main Market. From Blantrye, Nankhumwa rode on a passenger minibus back to Limbe for a press conference.

During the press conference, Nankhumwa requested President Lazarus Chakwera to explore actionable strategies to mitigate the social and economic impacts of fuel price increase.
