Transport Minister Hara opens Bushiri funded Namulenga bridge in Mulanje

Completion of construction at Namulenga Bridge in Traditional Authority Juma’s area is expected to alleviate transportation hurdles in Mulanje District. The initiative, bankrolled by Prophet Shepherd Bushiri of the Enlightened Christian Gathering, arose in response to Cyclone Freddy’s ravaging floods that obliterated the bridge last March.

T/A Juma underscored the significant disruption the incident wrought upon public and economic services for the local populace. Minister Jacob Hara, from the Ministry of Transport and Public Works, lauded Prophet Bushiri’s act as a testament to patriotism.

On his part, Bushiri urged for united efforts to reconstruct the nation post the wreckage Cyclone Freddy caused. Reportedly, the Bushiris allocated a substantial K120 million to finance this pivotal project, aiming to restore crucial connectivity and stability for the region.
