Survey Shows Chakwera Leading as Recognised Candidate, Mumba Seen as Game-Changer

A survey released a few days ago by the Institute of Public Opinion and Research (IPOR) suggests that President Lazarus Chakwera remains the most recognised and trusted presidential candidate in Malawi.

The findings also indicate that his running mate, Vitumbiko Mumba, is emerging as a powerful figure in the race, with a majority of respondents describing him as the real “game changer” in the upcoming election.

According to the survey, many Malawians feel that President Chakwera’s campaign message resonates strongly with the public. Respondents said they are satisfied with his leadership and believe he deserves a second term to complete the development projects he has already started.

The survey highlights a growing sense of continuity within government, with voters signalling confidence in Chakwera’s administration and his chosen deputy.
