In a striking declaration that could shake up Malawi’s political landscape, South African leadership consultant and pastor Chris Matebela has called on Malawians to maintain President Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera as a President of this country for another five years, arguing that the leader’s transformative vision is still unfolding.
Speaking at the high-profile Global Leadership Summit at the Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe, where Chakwera was the guest of honor, Matebela did not mince words. He painted Chakwera as a rare visionary, steadfast in his mission to propel Malawi into a brighter future.
“Malawians are truly blessed to have a leader of President Chakwera’s caliber. His vision, passion, and commitment to progress must be given time to bear full fruit,” Matebela declared in his electrifying presentation, “Lead Where You Are.”
With over 124 countries represented at the summit, the event has become a powerful think tank for global leadership innovation. But it was Matebela’s unapologetic endorsement of Chakwera that stole the show.
He warned Malawians that the next stage of development demands ambition and meticulous preparation, cautioning: “The next level is only for those who prepare for it—because failing to prepare is preparing to fail.”
Meanwhile, Global Leadership Network Malawi Country Coordinator Victor Mughogho emphasized the summit’s importance as a critical forum for addressing global challenges. But as the political dust settles, one thing is clear—when pastors start speaking, it’s almost a done deal.
