As one way of strengthening the police’s capacity during the festive season, communities have donated fuel to Balaka police station for patrols.
The communities presented a cheque of money amounting to K95 000 on Friday.
Representative for the communities committee, Davie Zayidi, while presenting the donation to Balaka Officer In-charge, senior Assistant Commissioner of police JWD Nkhoma, said the donation is part of community appreciation for the commendable work done by the police and community policing structures in the district.
The Officer In-charge has since applauded the communities for their timely support towards policing communities in the jurisdiction and assured the communities of the police commitment to provide the required security during and beyond the festive season.
