Prophet Shepherd Bushiri who is hotly pursued by the South African government who call him a fugitive for skipping bail there has told Malawians that he is not interested to contest as Malawi President in 2025. Bushiri is a darling of some Malawians due to his philanthropist spirit of helping the poor and those in vulnerable conditions. When Malawi was hit by cyclone Freddy, Bushiri adopted the districts of Mulanje and Phalombe by actually hiring a helicopter to deliver relief items to affected people. For this others think he is a Presidential material.
Bushiri said this during an Exclusive Interview he had on Times TV with host Brian Banda yesterday, which was patronized heavily on Times Malawi 360s’ facebook page garnering 90k views during the program breaking the record in the process. Acknowledging that he is indeed a presidential material, Bushiri rubbished those reports saying he is not a politician. He also rubbished reports that he is bankrolling the AFORD which has oflate gone into full gear positioning itself for 2025. However, Bushiri conceded that Enock Chihana, AFORD’s leader is his long business partner.
Bushiri also thanked President Chakwera for giving him the opportunity to help government during the cyclone Freddy crisis saying the President was instrument in making sure that Bushiri is allowed to operate a plane in the country during that crucial time.
Bushiri is a charismatic preacher whose teaching focuses mainly on prosperity and he attracts thousands of worshipers from other countries such as South Africa to worship with him in the capital Lilongwe. Bushiri, a businessman as well, has astonished Malawians with a building project of what he calls Goshen city in the lakeshore resort district of Mangochi.
