President Lazarus Chakwera is expected to depart the Dubai International Airport today for Glasgow, Scotland to attend the 26th Session of the Conference of Parties (COP26) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) which commences on November 1.
The COP26 will bring together world leaders to discuss among other things the technological solutions for achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and come up with practical measures of dealing with the devastating effects of climate change through the reduction of greenhouse emissions.
A statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs says President Chakwera who is with the First Lady Madam Monica Chakwera is expected to address the summit.
Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson and President of the COP26 His Highness Prince Charles will host the summit.
