‘President Chakwera is in power to defeat certain things for Malawi’

President Chakwera must lead nation in prayer Jere

BY LOMDAKA BANDA

Mzuzu-based Christian author and senior pastor at Reinstated Christian Home (RCH) Pastor Dhumie Jere has said – high-on-the-heels of the publication of his new book, ‘Breaking Free – Curses, Lust and Satanic Bondages’, – that some of the country’s bondages are spiritual and need deliverance.

Jere said in an interview that Malawi was lucky to have a man of God as its leader, and that if President Chakwera is on the forefront in leading his people in prayer the country is going to be set free.

“Our President [Chakwera] is a man of God, and I assume he has greater understanding on the matters of the spirit. He has to fight some of these things spiritually, because the spiritual controls the physical.

“Perhaps that is why he is in power today to defeat certain things for Malawi. He has to face God all the time and we will really see the light,” Pastor Jere said.

According to him, Malawi’s situation does not mean that we are cursed.

“But we cannot rule out the works of curses in our land. I believe our leaders have to seek seriously God’s guidance in everything in order for us to see the light of God,” he said.

On his book, launched last month at Illala Crest Lodge in Mzuzu, and going at K10 000 a copy, Jere said it is one that is about deliverance from various spiritual and physical bondages that affect the children of God.

“One of the most important thing you must know is that, you are called to live a holy or pure life. For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life. (NIV , 1 Thessalonians 4:7) Do not be hasty in the laying on of hands,a nd do not share in the sins of others. Keep yourself pure. (NIV , 1 Timothy 5:22).

The journey of Christianity is to pursue holiness. God desires that man should live this given life for His glory and honor,” he said.
