Malawi’s President, Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera, expressed appreciation for the assistance provided by the International Federation of Red Cross (IFRC) to Malawi. These sentiments were shared during discussions held between President Chakwera and Jagannath Chapagain, Secretary General of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), at Kamuzu Palace in Lilongwe on Monday.
Chakwera extended his gratitude to the IFRC for their prompt response during times of natural disasters that have affected the country.
“When you work with Red Cross, you feel like you have a partner any day, night. Red Cross is a source of hope for Malawians especially in times of disaster,” he added.
In response, Chapagain expressed his gratitude to Chakwera for allowing them the opportunity to meet with him. He assured that the organization remains committed to providing ongoing support to Malawi.
