The chickens have now come home to roost as Malawi Police have arrested former President Peter Mutharika’s bodyguard Norman Chisale for alleged insulting and intimidation. Chisale launched a scathing verbal attack on former Director of Public Prosecution Steven Kayuni and Minister of Justice Titus Mvalo and police spokesperson Kadadzera accusing them of being the devil incarnates themselves during an interview with Zodiak Television. It is an interview that shock the core of the nation in the usage of profane language.
Stanley Chirwa, the lawyer for Chisale, has confirmed his client’s arrest, mentioning that they are currently in the process of gathering additional information regarding the charges.
Salome Chibwana, the spokesperson for Lingadzi Police Station, has confirmed Chisale’s arrest but she refused to disclose more details pertaining to his arrest clarifying that it is the national police headquarters at area 30 which is handling the matter.
