Mkaka & Chimwendo Should Go Unopposed says MCP loyalist: August Convention

Mkaka and Chimwendo must go unopposed

In a nostalgic reflection on the journey of Malawi Congress Party (MCP), Enoch Mwanza, a steadfast member of the party, says there must be continuity of Eisenhower Mkaka and Richard Chimwendo Banda in their respective roles as Secretary General and Director of Youth. Mwanza’s sentiment stems from their pivotal contributions during MCP’s transition from obscurity to prominence.

“To preserve the DNA of our party, certain positions should remain uncontested. We must fortify MCP with the unwavering leadership of these esteemed individuals,” Mwanza affirmed.

Elaborating on his stance, Mwanza emphasized, “Consider the sacrifices made by Mkaka and Chimwendo-Banda. Their commitment to MCP is unparalleled. We cannot afford to replace them arbitrarily. Unfortunately, some aspirants seek office for personal gain rather than party advancement.”

Mwanza’s impassioned plea underscores the reverence for Mkaka and Chimwendo’s dedication to MCP’s cause, advocating for their unchallenged continuation in leadership roles.
