Minister Ng’oma Warns Against Spreading False National Security Information

Zikhale N'goma

Ken Zikhale Ng’oma, the Minister of Homeland Security, has strongly criticized certain overly enthusiastic social media groups for disseminating false information. Speaking at a press conference in Lilongwe, Ng’oma emphasized that the government will not simply stand by and allow such activities to continue.

He revealed that his ministry has been closely monitoring various stories circulating on social media, many of which have been confirmed as untrue. As an example, he cited recent reports of individuals obstructing the Khwekwerere road with nails, clarifying that this was indeed false information, as double-laned yellow-lined roads are not used in Malawi.

Regarding the recent incidents of violence in Lilongwe, Ng’oma assured the public that the police are actively investigating these matters.
