MERA assures Malawians of adequate fuel stocks amidst DPP propaganda

Fuel in abudance

Contrary to media propaganda that the country will run out of fuel stock soon, the Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority (MERA) has come out of its cacoon to assure the public that the country has sufficient fuel stocks to meet national demand.

“Currently, the country has in its reserves a month’s worth of fuel supplies. In addition, importation is ongoing to ensure uninterrupted availability of fuel on the market. MERA would like to thank and request stakeholders and the general public for their continued cooperation and support. Please report any illegal fuel trading practices to the nearest Police Station or call toll-free 4259 or email: mera@mera.mw” in part reads the statement from MERA.

Propaganda merchants, most of them misinformed opposition agents,  have been ruling the social media cyberspace with a false narrative that the country’s fuel stocks have run out. The aim was to discredit the Chakwera administration but with this assurance, the propagandists will have to go back to the drawing board to strategise.
