MCP ready for Dedza by-election; to put gendered monitors in all polling centres

MCP Candidate Willard Gwengwe

The ruling Malawi Congress Party (MCP) central region Deputy Director of Campaign Ulemu Msungama says the party is ready for the 16th November by-election and that it will put all monitors, with gender considerations, in all the polling centres in the constituency.

Msungama was speaking at Chafwala Village Ground in the area of Senior Chief Kaphuka during the campaign rally yesterday. The Deputy Campaign Director Msungama urged registered voters to vote for Willard Gwengwe as a member of Parliament for Dedza Central describing him as a developmental-oriented man.

Dedza Central Constituency By-election is expected to take place on 16 November 2023 as the Malawi Electoral Commission is busy preparing for the polling day.

Dedza is predominantly the stronghold of the Malawi Congress Party which entails that it is almost a foregone conclusion that a Malawi Congress Party candidate, Willard Gwengwe, or a rebel independent, affiliated to the Malawi Congress Party, will carry the day.
