Mangochi Prophet Christopher Phiri Convicted of Child Sexual Activity

Prophet Phiri heading to Prison for 19 years

Surprising yet factual, a self-proclaimed Prophet of God in Mangochi, Christopher Phiri has been found guilty of indecent assault and engaging in sexual activity with a child. The Senior Resident Magistrate Muhammad Maxwell Chande in Mangochi delivered the conviction against Prophet Phiri, the founder of the Supernatural Embassy Ministry.

Initially accused of engaging in sexual intercourse with his underage biological daughter, 40-year-old Phiri denied the charges. However, today, the state, represented by lawyer Brenda Khwale, amended the charges to indecent assault and engaging in sexual activity with a child.

Phiri pleaded guilty to the amended charges, leading Magistrate Muhammad Maxwell Chande to convict him on both counts. The case has now been adjourned until December 29, 2023, for submissions before sentencing, and Prophet Phiri is currently held in police custody.
