The Malawi Scorchers, who ended a 35-year trophy drought for Malawian teams by clinching the COSAFA 2023 women’s trophy with a 2-1 victory over Zambia in South Africa, celebrated their triumph by parading through the streets of Lilongwe, proudly displaying the trophy they brought back home.
Their victory has also captivated the country’s leader, Dr. Lazarus Chakwera, who has extended an invitation for them to join him for lunch today at Kamuzu Palace.
