Malawi President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera has appointed Dr. Jacob Mazalale as the Principal Secretary of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs.
Dr. Mazalale, who serves as an Economics lecturer at the University of Malawi (Unima), will oversee economic matters.
Robert Kalindiza, spokesperson at the Office of the President and Cabinet, has confirmed that Dr. Mazalale joins the Finance Ministry on a temporary assignment from the university. Kalindiza further stated that this appointment aligns with the President’s efforts to sustain the country’s economic progress.
