Malawi Pres. Chakwera Brings Joy to Patients at Newly Renamed Rev. John Chilembwe Hospital in Phalombe; donates 400 bags of Maize

In a mere matter of days following the renaming of Phalombe Hospital to Reverend John Chilembwe in tribute to the revered freedom fighter, President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera undertook a visit to uplift the spirits of patients across various wards within the hospital situated in Phalombe District.

Beyond the benevolent act of bestowing assorted items upon the patients, Dr. Chakwera demonstrated his commitment by generously contributing 400 bags of maize and parcels of fish to augment the hospital’s resources.

Commending the President’s benevolence, Minister of Health Khumbize Kandodo Chiponda acknowledged the significance of the donation, emphasizing that the facility typically requires 25 bags of maize per month.

In the subsequent agenda, Dr. Chakwera is poised to inaugurate the National Tree Planting Season for 2023/24, a testament to his commitment to environmental conservation. Additionally, he is scheduled to officiate the installation of Senior Chief Kaduya to the esteemed position of Paramount Chief, thereby further reinforcing traditional leadership structures.
