It is a widely acknowledged fact that Catholic secondary schools stand out as some of the highest-performing institutions in the nation. Yet, the Episcopal Conference of Malawi (ECM) has issued a challenge to the leadership of these schools: prioritize the enforcement of discipline among students.

Archbishop Luke Msusa, the ECM Education Chairperson, expressed satisfaction with the academic achievements of Catholic schools across the country. However, he emphasized that maintaining discipline among students is equally crucial to further elevate their standards.

Addressing attendees at the 2024 meeting of the Association of Catholic Secondary Schools Head Teachers in Malawi, held in Mangochi, Msusa underscored the importance of cultivating a culture of discipline within these academic institutions.

Association Chairperson Linly Chavula acknowledged the prevalent challenges concerning student discipline, attributing them in part to the proliferation of technology.
