One-time partisan presenter on state-controlled Malawi Broadcasting Cooperation, Hope Chisanu has been fired. MBC Director General George Kasakula said in a letter that Chisanu has been fired for a dishonesty charge under their code of conduct and its punishment is summary dismissal.
Chisanu is said to have been submitting false reports regarding radio listening clubs.
“Management has therefore endorsed the recommendation made by the Disciplinary committee and as such, you are hereby being informed that your contract of employment with MBC is terminated with immediate effect,” in part reads the letter to Chisanu dated 11th April 2013.
Chisanu was infamous alongside Steve Maseya on MBC for doing DPP dirty propaganda against the opposition. Unfortunately, DPP lost to their counterparts, Tonse Alliance.
