The Surveyors Institute of Malawi has elected Desmond Namangale as its new President during an annual conference yesterday in Salima.
Namangale currently works with Knight Frank Malawi as the Managing Director. The President elect holds an MSc in International Project Management from Glasgow Caledonian University-UK, a BSc in Land (Estates) Management from Mzuzu University, a Pg. Certificate in Property Development and Investment from University of Cape Town, and other certificate in Research and Publication and Strategic Management among others.
Before joining Knight Frank, Namangale worked as a lecturer at the then Polytechnic now MUBAS where he also headed the department of Land Economy and Quantity Surveying for 4 consecutive years. Before then, Namangale worked as a Valuation Officer in the Ministry of Lands (S).
On the occasion of his election, Namangale said was “truly humbled and grateful to have been elected as the President of Surveyors Institute of Malawi (SIM)” and looked forward to serving the institute with team work and inclusivity, financial prudence, accountability and sustainability and by being consultative and objective.
