Controversial but sober political analyst Lyson Sibande has advised UTM Presidential hopeful Dalitso Kabambe to start thinking about 2030 saying their 2025 strategy isn’t potent to win them elections next year.
“Now, I can only advise Kabambe to start thinking about 2030. His strategy must stretch beyond 2025 because Chakwera and APM will not contest again. Chakwera and APM have been pillars and figureheads of the two major parties – MCP and DPP for the past decade. Their decade ends next year and a new era will begin right away.
“On the road to 2030, all parties will be looking for new faces . All Malawians will be looking for new people and new ideas. This juncture MIGHT bleed a new revolutionary thinking among the electorate and POTENTIALLY alter voters behavior.
“This will be the time for politicians to start thinking the way Kabambe, Mtumbuka etc are thinking. Kabame and his friends are thinking exactly the way Chilima thought towards 2019 but lost badly. They have the same strategy in mind,” he said.
According to Sibande: “For now, only DPP and MCP can win the 2025 elections and like I said, Chakwera will be re-elected regardless.”
