Malawi President Lazarus Chakwera has encouraged Africans living abroad to seize the substantial investment prospects available in Africa. Dr. Chakwera delivered this message at the Africa Investment Summit held alongside the United Nations General Assembly in New York, USA. He emphasized that Malawi, much like other African nations, possesses unexplored potential in sectors such as agriculture, tourism, science and technology, healthcare, education, and mining.
“When we invest back home, we are supporting the acceleration of social economic development for the continent,” said Dr Chakwera.
Mozambique’s President, Filipe Nyusi, echoed President Chakwera’s sentiments by encouraging potential investors to consider Africa, specifically highlighting Malawi, Mozambique, and Lesotho as promising opportunities.
In his address, Prime Minister of Lesotho, Ntsokoane Samuel Matekane, emphasized that the time has arrived for members of the African diaspora to contribute to the continent’s economic growth by establishing businesses that can generate employment opportunities for the youth.
The Africa Investment Forum was hosted by Malawi, with sponsorship from the Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST), Enyo International, the National Forum for Black Public Administrators (NFBPA), and the Malawi Permanent Mission to the United Nations.
