Chikwawa Nkombedzi legislator Abida Mia pays tribute to Muslim Organizations for new boreholes & relief items

The workaholic member of Parliament for Chikwawa Nkombedzi Constituency who is the Minister of Water and Sanitation, Abida Sidik Mia, has expressed here heartfelt gratitude to Malawi Relief Fund UK, a registered charity in the UK that is dedicated to alleviating poverty in Malawi for the generous support that has enabled her to drill 14 new boreholes she commissioned just two days ago.

Mia also pointed out that with her our own resources, she also managed to undertaken the repair of 70 dysfunctional boreholes.

“As the Member of Parliament for Chikwawa Nkombedzi Constituency, this accomplishment marks a significant milestone in our efforts to ensure clean water access for our community. I remain committed to drilling additional boreholes to lessen the burden on women who currently endure long journeys to obtain this essential resource,” she said during the commissioning ceremony of these boreholes.

The legislator also extended her thanks to Friends and Global Relief (FGRF) and the World Muslim League, for their assistance in providing relief items during the recent Kurbani Festival—one of the celebrations in the Muslim Faith.

“Through their support, we were able to reach out to over 6,000 families in Limbe, Blantyre, and the Lower Shire. We truly appreciate the impact these organizations, including the Muslim Association of Malawi, are making across various segments of the Malawian population,” she said.
