One of the country’s leading commercial banks, FDH Bank, on Thursday presented the K5 million grand prize to 70 year old winner, Stiveria Nsope, in the just ended ‘Kukonza Tsogolo Promotion.’

Nsope, who lives in Chiradzulu district, said winning the prize came as a surprise.

“I did not expect it. I will use the money to support my children and grandchildren businesses,” she said.

FDH manager for personal and business banking, Maureen Nalikungwi, said it was the bank’s goal to always change the financial situations of their clients for the better by promoting a saving culture.

“We will continue to promote a saving culture among Malawians by creating such promotions and ensure that their businesses thrive,” Nalikungwi said.

The promotion had been running since September 30, 2022 and, in between, the FDH Bank was splashing K1 million to one lucky winner, K100, 000 to 10 lucky winners and two meters of FDH Bank Plc cloth to 50 lucky winners monthly.

To enter the competition, existing customers had to deposit a minimum of K100, 000 into their FDH savings account and keep it for at least a month. New customers were also being allowed to open a savings account and deposit the same amount for the same period.
