Zimbabwe leader Mnangagwa arrives in Malawi tomorrow

Zimbabwe President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa is scheduled to arrive at Kamuzu International Airport (KIA) in Malawi at 16:00 hours local time for a three-day State visit upon the invitation of President Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera.

Upon arrival, President Mnangagwa will be welcomed by President Chakwera, and a Guard of Honour mounted by the Malawi Defence Force will be inspected to mark the beginning of his historic visit.

During his State visit, President Mnangagwa is expected to engage in various activities, including bilateral talks with President Chakwera, a visit to the Tobacco Auction Floors in Lilongwe, discussions with Zimbabweans residing in Malawi, and visits to areas affected by Tropical Cyclone Freddy.

The State Visit aims to strengthen the already robust bilateral relations between Malawi and Zimbabwe, which are centered around mutual interests in improving the living standards of their respective populations, historical ties, people-to-people exchanges, and shared interests in international socio-economic and geo-political developments.

President Mnangagwa’s visit will conclude on Friday, June 2nd, 2023 when he is scheduled to depart from Malawi through Chileka International Airport at 15:20 hours.
