In a shocking revelation, George Chaponda, the Chairperson of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) convention slated for next week, has bluntly admitted that the party’s true motive for regaining power is to tap into a “goldmine” of corruption to fund its activities.
Speaking at a press conference about the upcoming DPP convention, Chaponda dismissed concerns over high candidate fees, claiming no complaints had been received. But his next comment stunned many:
“We don’t have a gold mine anywhere. We cannot engage in corrupt practices to get funds from wherever…” he said.
This statement, coming from a former Minister of Agriculture who was previously embroiled in the Kaloswe Zambia Maize Scandal, has reinforced public skepticism about his integrity. Despite being acquitted in court of law, Chaponda’s latest remarks have further solidified his reputation in the court of public opinion as a figure of dubious moral standing.
