Walter Nyamilandu meets his match as SULOM President Fleetwood Haiya challenges him for FAM Presidency

Haiya to face Nyamilandu head-on

The path to the Football Association of Malawi (FAM) December elections is gaining momentum as Fleetwood Haiya, the President of the Super League of Malawi (Sulom), has received two nominations to run for the presidency.

These nominations have been granted by the Beach Soccer Association and the National Referees Association. The committees of both associations convened separately to make their decisions.

Additionally, both associations have put forward Christopher Kuyera, a FAM Executive Committee Member, for the First Vice Presidency, and Lameck Khonje, the Chairperson of the Northern Region Football Association, for the position of Second Vice President.

They have also endorsed Felister Dossi as a candidate for the position of Female Executive Committee Member, a role she currently holds.

However, the two organizations differ on their nomination for the Executive Committee Member position. The Referees Association has chosen their Chairperson, Patrick Kapanga, while the Beach Soccer Association has selected Chimango Munthali.

The nomination process began on November 1 and will conclude on November 16. The elections are scheduled for December 16 in Mzuzu.
