University of Malawi expels four students for plagiarism

Martin Matululu

Plagiarism and cheating are grave violations within the academic realm, and the University of Malawi remains committed to sending a clear and stern warning to potential wrongdoers that their actions will not be tolerated. The university on Friday expelled four students who engaged in academic misconduct of plagiarism or collaborating inappropriately during an exam.

This decision to expel the students was communicated to the university’s student community through a memo signed by the University Registrar, Mr. Martin Matululu.

“This development serves as a strong statement of the university’s stance on academic integrity and consequences for those who choose to engage in dishonest practices,” one student said on strict condition of anonymity.
