The future of UTM in the Tonse Alliance is becoming increasingly questionable, with the most recent example being the absence of the part’s colours on the decoration as President Lazarus Chakwera arrived in Mzuzu City yesterday.
However, UTM spokesperson Frank Mwenefumbo downplayed the incident, blaming it all on the decorators.
Some UTM supporters, he alleged, were among those who welcomed Chakwera.
President Chakwera is in the Northern area for a number of engagements, including crop inspections, the installation of Paramount Chief Chikulamayembe in Rumphi, and the observance of Labour Day in Mzuzu on May 1st.
Chakwera’s convoy was met by people dressed in MCP and Alliance for Democracy colours, including flags, when he arrived Mzuzu.
