Professor John Chisi, President of Umodzi Party, has abdicated from his Umodzi Party Presidential throne to join the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) whereas Zeria Chakale, former Vice President of the main opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has also joined the mother of all parties that is MCP.
The duo was welcomed at the MCP headquarters in the capital Lilongwe by the Party Secretary General, Eisenhower Mkaka alongside senior party officials who also double as cabinet ministers such as Minister of Water and Sanitation Abida Mia.
According to Mkaka, the MCP family is growing bigger with the new catch. Mkaka further told the nation that the MCP door is open to everyone who wants to join.
