Thyolera

Maxwell Thyolera, the Malawi Presidential Advisor on Parliamentary Affairs, has announced his intention to run as a Member of Parliament in the newly delineated Lilongwe City Chipala-Nafisi Constituency. This constituency is among the five constituencies established through the redistricting exercise done by the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC). The other constituencies resulting from this exercise are Lilongwe City Nankhaka, Lilongwe City Center, Dzenza, and Lumbadzi.

Supporters of the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) have endorsed Maxwell Thyolera as the candidate to choose in the 2025 Parliamentary Elections for Lilongwe City Chipala-Nafisi Constituency, citing his extensive political experience.

Prior to his defeat in the 2019 election, Thyolera held the position of Chairperson of the Legal Affairs Committee of Parliament. He currently serves as the Deputy Legal Advisor for the ruling MCP.
