Malawi President Lazarus Chakwera has commended First Capital Bank (FCB) for the significant sponsorship of the 2023 Presidential Charity Golf Tournament, scheduled for October 7 at Lilongwe Golf Club. During an announcement at Kamuzu Palace in Lilongwe on Wednesday, FCB’s Chief Executive Officer, Agnes Jazza, revealed the bank’s generous contribution of K100 million towards this year’s event.
President Chakwera expressed his gratitude to the bank and urged other companies and individuals to follow FCB’s example of philanthropy. Likewise, Golf Union of Malawi President Gift Chidya Gondwe praised FCB for their sponsorship.
The primary objective of the Presidential Charity Golf Tournament is to raise funds for the less fortunate in the country, with this year’s target set at K400 million.
