Neef Propels Chakwera’s Dedication to Expand Economic Empowerment of Ordinarily Malawians, Seeks Media Diligence

Chakwera-Deserves Second Term

The National Economic Empowerment Fund Limited (NEEF) has emphasized the importance of the media in relaying the agenda of the entity to the masses in a bid to transform the people economically.

NEEF chief executive officer Humphrey Mdyetseni says the people must understand the role of the fund and utilize it to help in transforming the nation.

In July last year, President Chakwera increased Neef purse to K350 billion to continue economic transformation legacy that over K100 billion disbursed since 2020 has recorded under his administration.

In launching the K350 billion increased purse during an event that was held in Balaka last year, President Chakwera assured Malawians that those who did not benefit in the first phase of loan disbursement would be targeted in the second phase.

Speaking today, the Neef CEO (Mdyetseni) says loans are also an integral part of development hence a need for various sectors to apply for them and grow a mindset of repayment to benefit others.

He was speaking in Blantyre where the entity is interfacing with the Southern Region Press Club, a grouping of journalists who are seeking financial independence.

Minister of Information and Digitalisation Moses Kunkuyu who is also Government Spokesperson says the media industry is at the receiving end in salaries hence a need to enroll them in NEEF loans for economic transformation.
